Brad Treliving, general manager of the Calgary Flames since 2014, has mutually agreed to part ways with the team. The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 17, 2023.
Treliving's departure comes after nine years at the helm of the Flames. During his tenure, the team reached the playoffs six times, including a trip to the Western Conference Final in 2019. However, the Flames have struggled in recent seasons, missing the playoffs in two of the past three years.
Treliving is now expected to join the Toronto Maple Leafs as their new general manager. The Maple Leafs, who fired Kyle Dubas earlier this month, have been searching for a new leader to guide the team to its first Stanley Cup title since 1967.
