Boeing Whistleblower

Death of Second Boeing Whistleblower Raises Questions

John Mitchell Barnett, a former Boeing employee who raised concerns about the company's safety and quality standards, has died unexpectedly.

The death of Barnett, 62, comes just two months after another former Boeing whistleblower, Eugene Chen, died in a motorcycle accident. Barnett was scheduled to give a deposition on Saturday as part of a lawsuit against Boeing related to the production of the 737 MAX aircraft.

Barnett worked as a quality manager at Boeing from 1991 to 2008. He raised concerns about the company's manufacturing practices, including the use of unqualified parts and the lack of proper oversight.

In 2008, Barnett filed a lawsuit against Boeing, alleging that he had been retaliated against for raising concerns about safety. The lawsuit was settled in 2011, and Barnett received a confidential financial settlement.

Barnett's death is sure to raise questions about Boeing's safety practices and the treatment of whistleblowers. The company has been under fire in recent years for its role in the 737 MAX crashes, which killed 346 people.
