Pumas suffer a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Necaxa in Liga MX

Pumas UNAM failed to capitalize on a numerical advantage and fell to a 2-0 defeat against Club Necaxa in the Liga MX.

The Estadio Victoria was the stage for the matchday 10 matchup between Necaxa and Pumas. The visiting team entered the match as the favorite due to their superior position in the standings, but Necaxa had other plans.

First Half: Necaxa takes the lead

The match started with both teams looking to impose their style of play, but it was Necaxa who took the initiative. The hosts created several dangerous chances in the opening minutes, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

However, in the 25th minute, Necaxa broke the deadlock. A cross from the right flank found its way to Rodrigo Aguirre, who controlled the ball with his chest and fired a shot into the top corner of the net.

Second Half: Pumas fail to equalize

The second half started with Pumas looking to get back into the match. The visitors had more possession of the ball, but they struggled to create clear-cut chances.

In the 65th minute, Pumas were dealt a blow when Sebastian Saucedo was sent off for a second yellow card. This gave Necaxa a numerical advantage, and they took full advantage.

Just five minutes later, Necaxa doubled their lead. A long ball over the top found Facundo Batista, who controlled the ball with his head and fired a shot into the bottom corner of the net.
